The Pinnacles, our winner is ….

Congratulations to Elizabeth Thompson – our AM Services Group Colleague of the Year 2021

We are delighted to announce that Elizabeth Thompson, our Site Support Manager at Recipharm in Holmes Chapel, has been named our first AM Services Colleague of the Year 2021. Liz receives a trophy and cheque for £1000 from our Managing Director, Greg O’Brien, in recognition of her outstanding achievement, as part of The Pinnacles, the annual Pinnacle Group staff awards.

Liz was chosen for this award by our senior managers from our Colleague of the Month and Star Awards winners who have been outstanding in demonstrating our company values over the last 12 months.

“I was very shocked when I was told the award had been made to me, and so proud, said Liz. “I’m grateful to win this, not only for me but for my fantastic team. A lot of what I do, I could not do without them, and it would not have been so successful without the teamwork.

Liz began working for us at Recipharm, an industry leader in the development, manufacturing and packaging of pharmaceuticals for the essential supply of clients across the globe, in November 2019. She took on the supervision of the site at a crucial time at the start of the contract and the new relationship with the client… and then Covid-19 hit.

Our AM Services Group Commercial Director Ashley Kirk had high praise for Liz: “Rather than let this hold her back,” he said, “Liz immediately embraced our ‘one team, one goal’ vision and clearly demonstrated every one of our values to support our client and her team through the most challenging of times. Not only has she helped to ensure that quality standards have remained high and has built and nurtured very positive relationships with our client, she has even gone beyond this by introducing successful changes that have led to cost saving on the site.”

Liz believes in teamwork and leads her team to be the best they can be. She communicates with them regularly and works alongside them daily to iron out any issues and ensure service delivery is at its highest. This has led to Liz and the team being recognised with several AM Services Group colleague and team awards.

The Recipharm site’s Engineering Team Leader also summed up Liz’s vital contribution during a coronavirus-impacted time, saying: “We couldn’t do it at all without you. We know that the current situation makes it difficult for you as a team, and the additional services you have provided have been exceptional and always with a friendly smile and ‘can-do’ attitude.”

“When I came to this job,” Liz added, “my background was in retail management and this was my first experience of facilities management. My team has been behind me all the way, while AM Services Group and the client have supported me as I grow and develop. I’ve been very lucky and would like to thank them all.”

Our Managing Director Greg O’Brien concluded: “A huge congratulations to Liz on your well-earned award. Your actions help to make this a place where we can all be very proud to work.”

Sadly, The Pinnacles awards event, which was due to be held early in December in London, was cancelled due to the foremost priority of the welfare of our colleagues in the light of the emergence of the Omicron variant and the Government’s tightening of restrictions.
