A Key Account Manager’s view of the site
Our key account manager Sam talks about the special requirements of working at a Tier One COMAH site
We began working with this world leading chemical producer last year to deliver security and front of house services. At their 160-hectare UK site, the company employs around 370 professional, technical and craft employees and receives some 500 visitors, contractors and deliveries monthly. Our team provides manned guarding, concierge, and 24/7 gatehouse cover services.
Here we talk to our key account manager Sam Golding about the unique requirements of servicing this Tier One COMAH facility. We asked her:
What are some of the key opportunities for providing facilities support to a top-tier COMAH client?
Ensuring compliance with the rigorous regulatory responsibilities of the site is at the top of our agenda as a service provider. However, while delivering the highest standards of security and health and safety is a clear priority for the team, there is a big opportunity to support quality customer service for all staff, visitors and guests, striking just the right balance between proactive enforcement and a great customer experience.
What are some of the challenges/unique requirements?
Recruiting high quality security officers, who are fully SIA trained with a valid SIA licence and full UK driving licence, is essential. New officers must be committed to their role and to their team, sharing our values and working together as a team helping each other and the client to cover shifts, holidays and changing requirements.
Does the team need any special training or skills?
New team members undertake our AM Services Group intensive 12 week induction to ensure competency in all aspects of the day to day running of a Tier One COMAH site and the site specific hazard levels and risk. All team members on the site are breathing apparatus (BA) trained to support emergency response.
The team has an ongoing commitment to assisting the site with their emergency procedures and emergency plans, ensuring that our team on site identifies safe systems of work to mitigate risk and employs appropriate safety intervention measures.
