Keeping your property secure during Covid-19

As many of us are currently working from home, many commercial buildings remain unoccupied.

If your property is temporarily or permanently closed, security will be a high priority for facilities managers and property owners. Risk assessments, including precautions to keep people and premises safe, during this low occupancy or vacant property phase, will be at the top of the agenda to protect from arson, antisocial behaviour, vandalism, theft and squatters. It is essential to ensure that your security arrangements continue to meet regulatory compliance and the latest requirements of your insurer. Following government guidance during Covid-19 is, of course, absolutely essential. 

Owners and managers of any empty property also have a ‘duty of care’ to anyone entering the building, whether these people are authorised or unwelcome intruders.
