A focus on mental health – World Mental Health Day 2018
Our latest newsletter included information and support of mental health problem within the work place. #WorldMentalHealthDay #ItsOkayNotToBeOkay
If you’re an active reader or radio listener, you may already be aware that mental health and stress in the workplace is a hot topic at the moment and has strongly featured in the news.
The mental health charity Mind recently launched a survey across 44,000 employees. The survey highlighted that every one-in-two people suffered or experienced mental health problems in their current job and half of those surveyed did not feel they could talk to their employer about it.
There is a huge stigma attached to mental health and it is because of this stigma that people don’t speak out.
By featuring this topic in our newsletter AM Services Group is tackling this stigma head on.
If anyone feels that they are suffering from any issue related to mental health, we cannot urge you enough to talk to us. Your line managers are there to listen and here to help support you through any struggles and challenges you may face. We encourage all our employees to speak out in confidence, in safety, and without repercussion.
Mind.org.uk has launched the mental health gateway. Here you can find information to help you, from local Mind network resources and contact centres to useful guides to support and services. These cover a range of issues which people may struggle with on a daily basis, whether financial, addiction or bereavement.
Help us help you!
