From cleaner to site manager – now that’s impressive!
Fantastic career progression for John at The Beacon Centre
John has worked his way up from his start as a cleaner through to a Security role then onto his current position as Site Manager for Security/Cleaning duties at The Beacon Shopping Centre. John is basically the number 2 on the site.
He is a great asset to the Centre, a good ambassador for AM Services and is highly thought of by tenants and the Centre’s owners, John sets an example for the rest of the team to emulate. The tenants very much appreciate John’s support in trying to ensure that known shoplifters are kept out of the Centre thus protecting tenant’s goods/property (and staff). Though not strictly his responsibility, John has apprehended shop-lifters walking out of a store with stolen goods countless times.
John has a first aid course certificate, CCTV License, IPAF license, Facilities Management NVQ Level 3 Course and an IOSH course; he is also currently working towards his ILM Diploma for Management Level 3.
John never rests on his laurels. His willingness to learn and be involved in all aspects in the day-to-day running of the Beacon Centre is infectious. His calm approach has often resulted in diffusing potentially threatening situations with undesirables in the Mall. John is not simply content to be involved with Security and Cleaning duties; he also has a keen eye for pointing out any building defects that could potentially become a health and safety issue
A very valued member of the team at the Beacon and a prime example of working hard to climb the AM ladder!
