Meet the Team – Aileen raises the bar with her AM contracts

This month we introduce you to Aileen Platt. In our regular “Meet the Team” article, we get to know our latest account manager and what makes her the perfect fit for the job! Aileen’s vast experience in the cleaning industry leads her to understand that when your staff are happy at work, they are productive at work, an ethos which meets the beliefs of AM Services Group!

Can you describe the jobs you do at AMSG?
I am one of the Contract Managers at AMSG and look after our cleaning and security clients in the North West. I help those contracts to run smoothly and make sure that the clients are receiving the best service possible so that cleaning and security are never a worry for them. I look after the teams of security guards and cleaning staff to make sure that they are fully trained so that they can excel in their role and are fully engaged and happy in what they do.

What aspect of your new role do you enjoy the most?
I love that every day is different. I meet new people and help to motivate teams, making them feel valued at the same time as delivering a first-class service to our clients.

I love turning things round and seeing positive changes that I have helped to make and implement.

How do you motivate others?
I give them the tools and skills to be able to do their job well and efficiently.  I believe in them, which in turn makes them believe in themselves. I like to find out what makes them tick and take an interest  so that they feel engaged with me and with AMSG. A happy workforce is a productive workforce.

What is the most important thing you have learned in the last ten years?
I have learnt that everyone is equal: from clients to employees, and  large contracts to small contracts, everyone deserves the same amount of respect,  quality of service and support.
Being kind, open, honest and respectful to others will earn the same in return.

How do you define success and how do you measure it?
I don’t think there is just one way to define success. I feel successful to have gained this position with AMSG and every time I get good feedback from a client or ‘thank you’ from a member of staff. I feel successful that my son is a polite and intelligent young man. I feel successful each time I get a personal best at the gym! Perhaps success is can be measured by happiness, and that I am!

Tell us one interesting fact about you that we might not know.
In my spare time I am heavily into CrossFit and weightlifting and occasionally do this at competition level. CrossFit workouts are based on functional movements, and these movements reflect the best aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing, and more. I weigh around 47kg and can deadlift 80kg, squat 75kg and lift 40kg over my head in a split jerk, which I am very proud of!
