Team AM beat the pain threshold to smash their expectations to finish in 3rd position!

Our Yorkshire Marathon relay squad raced against 83 other teams around the streets of York on October 8th.

In the huddle before the race it was thought that they would be more than happy if they could complete the distance in a time around 3hrs 45 mins! As the race progressed and buoyed by the fact that the guys were keeping up a rapid pace alongside many experienced marathon professionals, the chip timing armband confirmed the thoughts of the team, ‘We are doing well’! The split times were indicating that a time of around 3hrs 20mins would be achievable! Wow!

The work done by the rest of the team put Director Ashley Kirk in a great position to work on the superb split times that they had achieved. They crossed the line in an amazing collective time of 3hrs 18mins 52 seconds. What a result, and what’s more, this was a time which left the team in a magnificent THIRD place position!

Well done to the team who ran their hearts out for the Ophthalmology Appeal for the S Sheffield Hospitals Charities who, earlier this year helped save the sight of an AM team colleague. If you would like to read more or even to donate, please read our Just Giving page HERE

Our intrepid team included Paul Nelson, Brooke Halliwell, Ian Noble, Dave Carrie, Joe Siberry and Ashley Kirk. Well done from all the AM family – you did so well! #OneTeamOneGoal
