Meet Emma Hutchinson, Group HR manager

“A TYPICAL DAY DOESN’T REALLY EXIST IN HR OR OPERATIONS” MEET EMMA HR!

We asked Emma Hutchinson, the group HR manager a few questions:

How have your first few months been at AM?
So far its been quite a whirlwind! I have been out and about meeting people across the operation and learning more about our business. I work across the group so there is lots of variety and different challenges on a daily basis. Everyone here is really committed and passionate and they have made it very easy to feel part of the team.

What does a typical day look like for you at AM Services Group? On a typical day.
A typical day doesn’t really exist in HR or Operations! I could be in the office updating a policy or out at a client site, supporting a manager. I have even taken part in a team building day driving 4×4’s around the lake district which certainly wasn’t something I was expecting!

What has your experience been prior to joining AM Services Group?
I have worked in HR for nearly 15 years. Most recently, supporting an offshore gas platform and processing terminal and prior to that in a hospital, university and small business. The great thing about HR is that I can use my experience in very different environments and nature of our business means there is a lots of opportunity to do just that.

What motivates and drives you professionally?
I like to feel I have made a difference. Whether that’s resolving a problem for an individual employee or something at a strategic level that impacts across the business.

What do you enjoy outside of work?
Outside of work I’m really into fitness, I love cycling and walking as well as weight training. I am also renovating a house at the moment so I am learning lots of new skills!

How would your best friend describe you?
Genuine, energetic and perhaps a little bit quirky!
