Introducing our New Key Account Manager

We recently welcomed John Shaw to the AM team, John has joined us as the key account manager for the Workman group, and is based out of Durham.

We asked him some probing questions:
What experience have you which will make you successful in your new role?  I spent 8 years working in the FM industry, beginning as a guard support manager and then after two years I was promoted to the role of operations manager, looking after a mixture of 40  retail, corporate, and static security sites over the North of England and Scotland.
What are you looking forward to the most about your new challenge, working for AM Support Service at the recently won centres?  I’m looking forward to having the opportunity to spend more time on the sites than my previous company allowed, due to the structured weekly visits, and getting the opportunity to improve the support for both staff and clients.
What motivates and drives you professionally?  I have a very competitive nature, so that helps, but I’m also quite a social person, so I enjoy being able to interact and build relationships with people.
How have your first 3 months been at AM? In one word….busy!  It’s been quite a steep learning curve for myself, getting to understand the procedures of both AMSS and the new clients. Fortunately, everyone in the company has been amazing and have helped me get to grips with things quite quickly.
What are you passionate about when you are away from the work arena?  My life away from AMSS very much revolves around sports, whether it’s playing football or going to the gym.
